An individual contributes
Eligible individual taxpayers may be able to make a qualifying cash contribution to an approved Scholarship Granting Organization.
A Utah nonprofit initiative
Utah Scholarship Fund is working to connect the generosity of taxpayers with scholarships that help Utah children access educational opportunities designed around their individual needs and potential.
Scholarship applications and tax-credit-eligible giving are not yet open.

Our mission
Every child is different. Some flourish in a traditional classroom. Others need a smaller environment, specialized support, a different pace, or an educational program built around their unique strengths.
Utah Scholarship Fund is being created to help qualifying families access more of those possibilities. Through charitable giving and the emerging federal scholarship tax-credit program, we hope to turn community generosity into meaningful educational opportunity.

Eligible individual taxpayers may be able to make a qualifying cash contribution to an approved Scholarship Granting Organization.
Beginning in 2027, federal law provides a nonrefundable income-tax credit of up to $1,700 for qualifying contributions, subject to applicable requirements.
Scholarship organizations use eligible contributions to support qualified K–12 educational expenses for eligible students.
Final eligibility, contribution, scholarship, and expense requirements remain subject to federal and state guidance. Taxpayers should consult a qualified tax professional about their individual circumstances.

Learn moreWhy Utah Scholarship Fund
Decisions should begin with the needs, dignity, and potential of each student.
Funds should be administered transparently, carefully, and in accordance with all applicable requirements.
A family's income should not be the only factor determining whether a child can access an educational environment where they can flourish.
Progress
Utah Scholarship Fund is currently building the governance, compliance, technology, and community relationships needed to responsibly administer a future scholarship program.
