Our Philosophy

Educational opportunity is larger than a school building.

Every child learns differently. Utah Scholarship Fund is being built to support the full range of environments and resources that help Utah children reach their full potential.

Our Philosophy

Education is bigger than a school building.

Every child learns differently. For some students, the right environment is their neighborhood public school. Others flourish in a private school, microschool, hybrid program, homeschool, career academy, or specialized learning environment.

Many children succeed because of opportunities outside the traditional classroom — through tutoring, after-school enrichment, STEM programs, arts education, dual enrollment, career training, specialized interventions, or educational technology.

We believe educational opportunity should be centered on the child, not limited by a single educational model. Our mission is to help families access the educational opportunities that best support their children’s unique strengths, interests, and needs.

Supporting the Entire Educational Ecosystem

Utah Scholarship Fund intends to support a wide range of qualifying educational opportunities — wherever a child learns best.

As federal guidance and Utah program rules are finalized, Utah Scholarship Fund intends to support a broad range of qualifying educational opportunities that help children learn, grow, and reach their full potential. Eligible expenses will always be determined by applicable law and official program requirements.

Our Scholarship Philosophy

Scholarships should expand opportunity, not simply reduce tuition. Award amounts will be determined by:

  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Available scholarship funding
  • The cost of qualified educational opportunities
  • Family circumstances
  • Policies established by the Board of Directors

Rather than adopting a fixed percentage of tuition, Utah Scholarship Fund intends to provide flexible scholarship awards that maximize both impact and fairness while helping as many Utah children as possible.
